You say ‘Sydney’, I say ‘Air – Moon Safari’… #indie30

Prompt #3: Music and travel memories often go hand in hand. A song can inspire our explorations, or it can take us back to a specific place and time. Tell us about your travel playlist and what it means to you. “Music is what feelings sound like.” –Somebody I often find myself listening to an album on repeat while traveling. So whenever I hear Manu Chao’s La Radiolina I’m taken straight back to Panama (and my first solo trip). Flaming Lips and I’m on the bullet train in Japan, Sigur Ros or Silverchair I’m on a long bus ride somewhere Read more…

#93: Set Up At Least 10 Useful Playlists for My iPod

The bulk of my iTunes playlists revolve around working out.  The rest are travel related, and have been incredibly useful on the road, especially my Sleep/Yoga mix.  I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere, but part of that has to do with listening to Air and Sigur Rós. Next up, finishing #94.  I just need to update my summer mix.  :)

Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked

04.14.09

The iTunes Free Song of the Week is actually good this week!  Cage The Elephant – “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” I’ve heard it a few times on 94.7 and initially thought it was new White Stripes/Jack White. It’s a good week for free music.  Lifehacker had a 773 Free Songs on Amazon post too.  I found a few good ones by Neko Case, Beirut, The Streets, Apples in Stereo and my favorite: Flight of the Conchords – Hurt Feelings.
