Green Juice {bringing sexy back}

Green drink, alkaline juice, green goddess smoothie… whatever you call it, green juice is usually your first post-purchase moment where you’re like:

“Oh my god, what am I doing!”

So whether shoving kale in a juicer makes you giggle or is already part of your morning routine, green drink is like the secret weapon of juice. Kale often gets overlooked for her more gregarious sisters — carrot and apple, but brings sexy back in a stealth way. Ya’ll still with me?

Like most juices, it’s hard to mess this one up. You’ll learn what your favorite ratios are, and you can always add in [or leave out] a few extras.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 stalks of kale
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 pear
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 2-3 romaine lettuce (optional)
  • 1 broccoli stem (optional)
  • 1/4 – 1/2″ chunk of fresh ginger root (optional)

As usual, wash all produce well. If your juicer doesn’t take a whole pear, cut first, peel ginger root, (peel the cucumber too if it’s not organic) and juice away!

Serves: 1

If you haven’t seen Kris Carr’s video for her “Make Juice, Not War green juice, check it out below. Also, in her book, Crazy Sexy Diet, she also recommends the optional greens of parsley, spinach, and dandelion. And sweet pea or sunflower sprouts if you have them.

What’s your favorite version of “Green Juice”?
