Best Rooftop Bars in Portland – Yes, We Have Them!

Last Updated:

When the weather gets nice, we love to head out to sit in the sun and enjoy happy hour. A few unique places to do this in Portland are at some of the following rooftop bars we’ve found around town. So when you’re in the mood to sit above the traffic and relax in the sun, you might check out one of these rooftop bars in Portland:

1. Revolution Hall

Portland’s most recent rooftop bar is the Roof Deck at Revolution Hall which opened summer 2017. You can order drinks from the roof top and order food downstairs for pickup. This is also one my favorite Portland viewpoints!

Roof Deck at Revolution Hall
1300 SE Stark St
Reservations: No
Food: drinks, bar food, burgers

2. Departure

Departure rooftop bar Portland

Sitting atop the Nines Hotel, Departure is like a little slice of LA –15 stories above Bridgetown. If you’re up for amazing views of the city, Departure is worth a shot. Although, for prime city-viewing, snag a seat on a weeknight for a more relaxed Portland vibe.

And while you can get away with wearing just about anything in Portland, Departure tends to be a bit dressier than your average Portland brewpub.

Departure
525 SW Morrison St
Reservations: Yes
Food: Asian Fusion
Happy Hour: 4-6pm Tue-Sat
Non-Happy Hour Cocktail: $9-12

3. Noble Rot

Noble rot Portland

Noble Rot is unique for being a rooftop bar on the east side of the river. Located on East Burnside, Noble Rot looking west towards downtown and is a prime spot for sunset views of the city. Although Noble Rot does offer cocktails and beer, they’re actually a wine bar, so make sure to check out their wine list and wine flights.

Noble Rot
1111 E Burnside
Reservations: Yes
Food: American/NW
Happy Hour: 5-6pm Mon-Fri
Non-Happy Hour Cocktail/Wine: $8-13

4. Radio Room

Technically not a rooftop bar, more like a patio, but we’ll take what we can get on Alberta. Interesting side note, Radio Room used to be an old Texaco station, that was converted into a restaurant in 2005.

Radio Room
1101 NE Alberta St
Reservations: No
Food: Brunch/Bar Food
Happy Hour: 3-6pm & 11pm-2am Mon-Fri
Non-Happy Hour Cocktail: $7-9

5. On Deck

On Deck is a sports bar, so if you can get past the idea of being at a rooftop bar with the typical sports bar clientele, then it’s worth a visit, especially for happy hour. Located in the Pearl, On Deck is the largest rooftop bar in PDX.

On Deck

910 NW 14th Ave
Reservations: No
Food: Sports Bar
Happy Hour: 3:30-6:30pm & 9-Close Mon-Fri
Non-Happy Hour Cocktail: $7-9
